AI Avatar Video for Your Personal Brand [VIDEO]

David Sonn, President of digital marketing agency, Arc Intermedia delivers this video on AI avatars. It’s one of the best videos on the topic and a must watch for anyone considering creating an AI avatar of themselves so they can produce more personal branding videos. A top video on the AI video avatar subject, it’s been re-posted on LinkedIn, social media, and blogs.

As you’ve seen, you can now clone yourself. Setup your avatar, feed in a script, prompt your outfit and location, and just like that, you’re delivering a flawless, confident performance like you’ve had 6 espressos and zero doubts your entire life. It’s fast, it’s efficient, and it’s kind of entertaining – at first.

I’m seeing more and more of these on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn and for a quick second, you think, “Wow, this person is on a roll.” And then it hits you… this isn’t really them. And once that switch flips, it’s hard to unsee.

If the goal is to build your personal brand, to earn trust, to become someone people actually want to hear from, this will backfire. Sure, the first couple videos might garner some eyeballs and comments. But over time, it starts to feel like you’ve outsourced yourself.

Think about someone you respect. Someone you follow because of their insights, their voice, their perspective. Now imagine they suddenly switch to a synthetic version of themselves. Same words, but no real presence. It feels hollow. And then it gets worse.

People don’t just question the video. They start questioning everything about it. Did you write this? Do you believe this? Are you even involved? Or is this just content being manufactured by your assistant. That’s not a great place to be if trust is your currency.

I believe we’re heading towards a future where imperfect, very human video becomes the premium. The occasional stumble or flubbed word become the cue that there’s a real person on the other side. Real starts to stand out. And no, that’s not the bunt signal.

Whenever you’re trying to build your brand, think of the end impact first. Faster, Easier, and Cleaner doesn’t justify adversely impacting your brand. Your goal shouldn’t be perfection. It should be connection.

If we’re being honest, the appeal of AI avatars is that you don’t like being on camera. That’s fair. Most people don’t. But the way through that isn’t to replace yourself.  It’s to get reps. Be uncomfortable and improve over time. Find your voice the same way everyone else does… by actually doing it over and over. So when you competitor rolls out their fake, artificial video, use it as motivation to counter it with your own, real, authentic video.
