Meet the New Gold Standard in Pest Control Information
When it comes to information about pests and pest control, no resource is more helpful than PestWorld.org.
As the official website of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), PestWorld.org provides encyclopedic information on bugs, rodents, birds, pest control, and the pest management industry. The goal is to promote and improve the image of the pest control industry as well as easily connect consumers with pest control professionals and pest prevention information. It achieves this with articles, statistics, photos, videos, and more provided by full service marketing communication firm Vault Communications, NPMA staff, entomologists, academics, and even home improvement expert Bob Vila.
And starting this week, PestWorld.org has become an even better resource.
That’s because Arc Intermedia had the privilege of executing a complete revamp of the site, in partnership with Vault Communications, who took the lead on content development and population. Starting with early meetings to determine the NPMA’s goals for a new version of the site, we:
- Devised wireframes to map out the structure and user experience
- Polished an attractive new design
- Programmed the splashy new responsive site from the ground up
And it isn’t just pretty and simple-to-use across all devices — it’s also packed with cutting edge features like location-specific content and robust search functionality.
Localization
When you first visit the new PestWorld.org, the site takes note of your location and presents content pertinent to current pest issues in your area. Perhaps you’re plagued by a certain pest common to your area at the time of your search — an “Active Pests in Your Area” section shows the top three pest types causing havoc around you, and allows you to jump right to details about one of those pests. You also always have the option to enter your zip code and get a list of pest control professionals who service your area.
In addition, there are helpful articles and news stories tailored to your location and the time of year. Sometimes those articles are pertinent to the whole country, like this current highlight on the Zika Virus:
Search
The new site also has a powerful search tool designed to ultimately make it the Google of pest information. A huge search bar at the top of the homepage encourages you to enter a search term, and results are organized into photos, videos, articles, and a super helpful section on the exact pest you may be searching for. There are plans to make this tool even more powerful and robust in the future.
Doing the industry proud
With tips and information for residential and commercial consumers, as well as sections with infographics, children’s e-books, and even interactive surveys and Buzzfeed-esque quizzes, we’re confident that the new PestWorld.org website fulfills its mission of elevating the image of the pest control industry while providing some much needed education.
We hope you’ll take a moment to visit https://www.pestworld.org and see for yourself.
